Dear Sir, Thanks for all the effort that you put in to work with the Team and explain them in depth all the Practical applications of Lean management.Really appreciate your Guidance and personally thank you for taking the Time and working with the Team..Reliablebookings.com

Hello Sir ,Please accept our heartfelt thanks for all your support and guidance during our Lean 6 sigma project on defect management & control. It was a huge learning for the team and we benefitted a lot from your constant feedback & guidance. Although the project has gone through, what shall stay with us & reflect in our future projects as well; is the systematic & structured approach to problem solving & working transversally. Sincere Regards,..seemyindia.com

Dear VQMS Mgmt. Thanks.Your enthusiasm was our source of inspiration throughout, thank you very much for your continual support. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt programme conducted at VQMS Lab was really a great success and achievement in our knowledge and career. The Program was indeed a great learning in terms of understanding the concepts and application using Minitab..Sunil Kumar.

Many Thanks to Mr. Anuj for his patience in clarifying our doubts. In all it was a memorable experience!!! Thanks & Regards,..Navneet Kr

Lean Six Sigma

Six sigma is a Statistical Control process of managing defects and deriving improvements out of it, first by identifying the defects, measuring the variation in measurement systems, analysing the data, further removing the defects with undergoing risk analysis, later continually monitoring through controlled variation, with the concept of continual improvement.

Six Sigma is a management methodology meant for driving process improvements in the delivery of goods and services. It provides businesses with the tools to improve the capability of their business processes. The increase in performance and decrease in process variation leads to defect reduction and vast improvement in revenue or net profits, employee morale and quality of product.

It is rapidly becoming a cornerstone philosophy among increasing number of organizations in the world. It is a business process that allows companies to drastically improve their bottom line by designing and monitoring everyday business activities in ways that minimize waste and resources while increasing customer satisfaction.

All the belts plays different roles and responsibilities under Lean Six sigma project implementation and management.

Training and certification give upper edge to the persons managing projects in their relevant fields, verticals or domains giving multi-edged outcomes as per ROI is concerned.

DMAIC as a six sigma approach

DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve and control) methodology are the most common six sigma approach to project work. Some organizations omit the D in DMAIC because it is really management work. With the D dropped from DMAIC the Black Belt is charged with MAIC only in that six sigma approach. We believe define is too important be left out and sometimes management does not do an adequate job of defining a project. Our six sigma approach is the full DMAIC.

Define

Define is the first step in our six sigma approach of DMAIC. DMAIC first asks leaders to identify and define our core processes. It is important to identify & define the selected project scope, expectations, resources and timelines. The definition step in the six sigma approach identifies specifically what is part of the project and what is not, and explains the scope of the project. Many times the first passes at process documentation are at a general level.

Measure

Measure being the second and very important step, which talks about the measurement of variation in measurement system. Few peoples think when they start a journey the most important thing to know is where they are going. While we agree knowing where you want to go is very important, we believe some of the first information you need before starting any journey is your current location. The six sigma approach asks the Black Belt project manager to quantify and benchmark the process using actual data. At a minimum consider the mean or average performance and some estimate of the dispersion or variation (maybe even calculate the standard deviation). Trends and cycles can also be very revealing. Process capabilities can be calculated once there is performance data.

Analyze

Analyze being the third step of DMAIC methodology. When, the project is understood and the baseline performance documented and verified that there is real opportunity, it is time with the six sigma approach to do an analysis of the process. Here, Six sigma approach applies statistical tools to validate root causes of problems. Any number of tools and tests can be used. Objective is to understand the process at a level sufficient to be able to formulate options for improvement. We should be able to compare the various options with each other to determine the most promising alternatives. As with many activities, balance must be achieved. Striking the appropriate balance is what makes the six sigma Black Belt highly valuable.

Improve

This being the fourth and very important step of DMAIC. During the improve step of the six sigma approach ideas and strategy for solutions are put to work. Six sigma Black Belt has discovered and validated all known root causes for the existing opportunity. Six sigma approach requires Black Belts to identify solutions. Few ideas or opportunities are so good that all are an instant success. As part of the six sigma approach there must be checks to assure that the desired results are being achieved. Some experiments and trials may be required in order to find the best solution. When making trials and experiments (Piloting the project) it is important that all project associates understand that these are trials and really are part of the six sigma approach.

Control

Last stage of DMAIC. It consists of usage of control graphs and SPC tools to analyze that the process is as per defined control limits and does not have any special causes or special pattern which can hinder your process in due course of time. As part of the six sigma approach performance monitoring and tracking mechanisms and measurements are in place to assure, at a minimum, that the gains made in the project are not lost over a period of time. As part of the control step we encourage sharing with others in the organization. With this the six sigma approach really starts to create phenomenal returns (ROI).

Few of the Benefits of LEAN SIX SIGMA

Benefits of six sigma is the decrease in defects, reducing variation and capable processes that are allowed to reach the customer objectives. There are numerous benefits of six sigma as a way to address issues and problems. You can get some sense of the benefits of six sigma by reviewing some six sigma projects. Other benefits of six sigma include:

Training and certification give upper edge to the persons managing projects in their relevant fields, verticals or domains giving multi-edged outcomes as per ROI is concerned.
