What is GeM Registration? GeM registration’s full form is Government e-Marketplace (GeM), an online platform for public procurement of goods and services by central and state government organizations. Public procurement has always been an essential part of government activities.

8. How to check GeM registration?

The process to check the GeM registration status

1. Step 1: Visit the GeM registration portal.
2. Step 2: On the top right side of the website, you will now see an option to track your order.
3. Step 3: Enter the tracking/order id.
4. Step 4: Now you can see your GeM registration status and how your process is going on.

9. Is GST mandatory for GeM registration?

Income Tax Return For (AY2020-21,2021-22,2022-23) is mandatory on Gem Portal. Uploading of GST Return (3B) of 3years is mandatory on Gem Portal. It is mandatory to upload the experience certificate of working in government departments in the financial year 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23 on Gem Portal.

10. What is red buyer in GeM?

Answer: “Buyer Payment Status: Red” is mentioned against those Buyers who have not released payments of more than 30 orders and CRAC has been generated for more than 70 days.

11. Is GeM a government company?

Government e-Marketplace (GeM) is a Section 8, not for Profit Company, under the administrative control of the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

12. Is GeM registration free?

If you want to register as a buyer or seller on the GeM portal, the registration is absolutely free of cost. The government of India does not charge you anything for registering. However, if you have appointed a consultant or an agent who is registering on your behalf, you will have to pay their consultancy fee.
